Drug smuggling bid foiled in Dubai
January 14th, 2012 - 11:59 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Dubai, Jan 14 (IANS/WAM) A bid to smuggle 2.5 kg of cocaine into the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was foiled by customs officials at the Dubai airport.
The drugs were concealed inside the lining of a bag belonging to an African woman.
A Dubai Customs’ women inspector detected the drugs, said Ali Al-Maghawi, director of passenger operations at the Dubai International Airport.
The woman who was on a business trip to Dubai arrived from an African country, the name of which was not disclosed.
