Drug racket busted in Hyderabad, two held
July 23rd, 2011 - 1:11 am ICT by IANSHyderabad, July 22 (IANS) Police Friday night busted a drug racket with the arrest of two people including a Nigerian and recovered cocaine from them.
A police official of Langar Houz police station said Fredrick, a Nigerian, and Siddharth, a physician from Hyderabad, were arrested soon after they landed here from Bangalore.
The duo told police they were supplying drugs to some actors and producers of Telugu film industry.
They also claimed to have met young actor Varun Sandesh and his friends Ravi and Abhishek. The police official said they were investigating the claims.
Denying reports that police arrested him, Varun Sandesh told reporters that he is innocent and has no knowledge why the arrested persons took his name.
In recent months, police busted few drug rackets having alleged nexus with Telugu film personalities. Two brothers of actor Ravi Teja and a Ugandan national were arrested last year in a drug dealing case.
