September 27th, 2011 - 10:49 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 27 (IANS) A 31-year-old surgeon who strangled his wife here and dumped the body in Allahabad citing incompatibility has been arrested, police said Tuesday.
Chandra Vibhash, who worked at the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital here,
packed wife Supriya’s body in a bag and drove about 630 km to Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh to throw it into the Ganges.
He missed the mark and the bag landed on a bridge, Additional Commissioner of Police V. Renganathan said.
Vibhash told police that he killed Supriya as they were not on the same “mental and physical” wave length.
Supriya, who studied management after completing engineering, got married to Vibhash in November last year in Jharkhand.
According to Supriya’s father, within months Vibhash told Supriya to leave their house. Both families intervened to bring peace. That did not happen.
Supriya had Sep 24 frantically telephoned her mother in Jharkhand expressing the fear that she could be murdered. Before her parents could rush to Delhi to rescue her, she was dead.
