London, Nov 27 (IANS) Singer Alesha Dixon is set to perform a slightly risque tribute to Britain Prime Minister Gordon Brown.Dixon will sing the song “Son of a Preacher Man” by Dusty Springfield, which was released in 1968. Brown’s late father was a Church of Scotland minister in Fife. She said, “I did the song on Dermot O’Leary’s radio show and my manager rang me and said: ‘Gordon’s the son of a preacher so you should definitely do that song for him’.”
Dixon had won “Strictly Come Dancing” last year and met Brown and his wife at a reception in Downing Street. Brown’s wife Sarah liked Dixon and asked her to return to sing at a charity bash. Dixon explained, “Sarah asked me to perform at a women’s event she has organised. The song’s dedicated to Sarah but Gordon’s going to pop in while I sing.”
Dixon is going to sing the latest single “The Boy Does Nothing” for Brown and Sarah.
