Disabled woman killed by speeding bus
April 4th, 2011 - 8:52 pm ICT by IANSMumbai, April 4 (IANS) A polio-stricken woman was killed here Monday after she was hit by a speeding state transport bus as she was crossing the road, police said.
Vidya Rane, 31, was crossing the road in south central Mumbai when she was hit by the bus. She was also hit by a taxi soon after, a police officer at the Kalachowki Police Station said.
“Rane was rushed to KEM Hospital, where she was declared dead,” he added.
The bus driver, Ravindra Mulik, 50, a resident of Satara district, was arrested for rash and negligent driving, he added.
