Direct tax collection up by 22.2 percent
December 5th, 2008 - 10:22 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 5 (IANS) The direct tax collections are “on course” and went up by 22.2 percent between April to November, the government said Friday.Direct tax collection between April to November went up from Rs.1.45 trillion to Rs.1.77 trillion, the government said in a release.
While corporate tax collection during the period grew by 26.82 percent to Rs.1.09 trillion (Rs.109,735 crore), the personal income tax realisation increased by 15.28 percent to Rs.672 billion(Rs.67,215 crore).
The government has a target to collect Rs.3.95 trillion as direct taxes during 2008-09.
