Dikshit to brief lawmakers on CAG report
August 10th, 2011 - 6:08 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Aug 10 (IANS) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit will brief lawmakers of the ruling Congress on the government’s stand on the Comptroller and Auditor General report that pointed out gross irregularities in the Commonwealth Games (CWG) preparations.
The Delhi assembly members will be briefed at a meeting called by Dikshit Friday, said an official.
The government will explain to the Congress legislators the decisions taken in the run-up to the CWG and its defence on the CAG findings, said sources.
The CAG in its report, released Aug 5, pointed out gross financial irregularities in preparations for the CWG. Following the report, there has been a huge uproar in parliament with the opposition BJP demanding the resignation of Dikshit.
