Dhoni’s family comes out in Hazare’s support
August 17th, 2011 - 8:56 pm ICT by IANSRanchi, Aug 17 (IANS) Narendra Dhoni, the elder brother of hometown boy and Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Wednesday said his family supports the anti-corruption agitation of Gandhian Anna Hazare.
“Anna is a star of the country and he is a bigger player than my brother, Mahendra Singh Dhoni,” Narendra Dhoni said while participating in a support march for Hazare.
“My family supports Anna’s agitation against corruption. We support the Jan Lokpal bill to eradicate corruption,” he added.
The workers of India Against Corruption civil society, Jharkhand Chapter, also staged a demonstration in Ranchi and tied black ribbons around their arms.
In Ranchi, lawyers boycotted the court in support of Hazare and condemned the central government’s action against Hazare.
“We boycotted the court to protest the government action against Anna,” Rajiv Kumar, a lawyer of Jharkhand High Court, told reporters.
