Dhaka, May 25 (IANS) Bangladesh has proposed counter-terrorism measures in cooperation with India and Myanmar, The Daily Star reported Sunday. The home ministry has suggested a memorandum of understanding (MoU) as well as extradition treaties with the two countries for “cross-border cooperation”.

Measures to improve vigil on borders should also include modernisation of immigration procedures and visa information system, the newspaper said.

It also seeks modernisation of education provided by madrassas.

“Cross-border cooperation on an inter-state level with India and Myanmar should be promoted without further delay. This can be done by signing MoUs and extradition treaties with these countries,” the ministry said.
