New Delhi, Sep 2 (IANS) For this winter, load your wardrobe with floral dresses, tartans and checks, gray tweeds and rich silhouette in bright colours to battle with the cold in a fashionable style.Designers Gurpreet Pia Fleming of Bian, Rahul and Gunjan of Sirali and hair and make-up expert Samantha Kochhar have forecast four vibrant looks for the beautiful winter.
“Winter does not mean that you go out of style. It’s all about creativity and exuberance of the inner self,” said designer Rahul of the Rahul-Gunjan duo.
“There is a misconception that people don’t like to dress up in winter because of heavy loaded woolen clothes. It’s just a myth. After all, every woman wants to look and feel good,” he added.
In terms of collections, the designers are inspired by global trends and they have given them an Indian interpretation.
For the “winter garden” collection, Rahul-Gunjan have floral prints taking the lead, but the hues have become darker and bolder - making your wardrobe a happy burst of colour.
For the “mad tartans” collection, checks and tartans are ruling the charts and colours like browns, charcoal and fuchsia make a perfect composition.
For the “rich pickings” collection of designer Gurpreet Pia Fleming, the focus is on silhouettes in bright hues accented with metal and costume jewellery. Thus, crepes, satins and georgettes in teal, coral and lizard prints are mixed with metal beads, metal wire and stones.
For Fleming’s “sombre tailoring” collection, body fit tweeds in charcoals and grays, slim pants and jackets will dominate the winter look.
Hair and make-up expert Samantha Kochhar believes that this winter will narrate the “story of contrasts”.
“This winter, the hair trend will be strongly feminine but with a hint of masculinity,” she said.
“Streaks are completely out of fashion and curly hair, pulled back hair and side partitioning are here to stay for a long time,” she added.
