Delhi wakes up to bright morning sans fog hassles

New Delhi, Jan 30 (IANS) It was a misty morning Friday, but there was hardly any fog, thus saving the capital from any fog-related delays at the airport and elsewhere unlike the previous day.”There was hardly any fog and therefore the air traffic has been smooth with hardly any delays. Everything has been normal,” said an official at the capital’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Heavy fog had blanketed many parts of the capital Thursday, throwing air traffic completely out of gear.

On Friday, the temperatures continued to remain above average for this time of the year.

According to officials at the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature recorded early Friday was 8.7 degrees Celsius, a degree above average.

“The maximum temperature will hover around 24 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees above average temperature at this time,” an IMD official said.

“This, however, does not mean the winter is over,” he added.
