Delhi teacher held for raping ex-student, making MMS
December 26th, 2011 - 6:23 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 26 (IANS) A government teacher was arrested for harassing a 22-year-old former student by making her Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS)clip after raping her a month ago, said police Monday.
According to police, the man, identified as Ram Avtar (40), works as a Hindi teacher in the Government School in the Ambedkar Nagar area of south Delhi. He stays in the Madangir area with his family.
A month ago, the teacher allegedly raped the girl, a former student of the school where he works.
A police official said that the teacher held private tuition classes for the girl. “One month ago, he allegedly raped her and made an MMS of the incident. He used to threaten her about making the MMS public if she did not maintain a regular relationship with him,” said the official.
The official told media persons that on Saturday the girl registered a complaint about the incident with the Ambedkar Nagar police station. “After a medical examination report of the victim, the teacher was arrested and sent to judicial custody,” added the official.
