New Delhi, Aug 29 (IANS) A physical training teacher of a school in north Delhi was Friday arrested for allegedly molesting two girls, the police said. He was later released on bail.Neeraj, a teacher at the school at Shalimar Bagh in northwest Delhi, surrendered to the police after being beaten up by the girls’ parents Friday, a police official said. He has been accused of molesting two Class XI students.

“The girls’ parents, who came to know about the incident yesterday (Thursday), beat up the teacher in the school today. Neeraj fled from the spot and later surrendered at the police station,” the official said, declining to name the school.

The angry parents of the girls tried to meet principal Shivani Kesar, who refused to talk to them. They then staged a sit-in protest outside the school and shouted slogans against the school administration.

Though the principal suspended Neeraj, she refuted the allegations that Neeraj had harassed any of the students. Neeraj had joined the school as a physical training teacher three months ago.

“If something was wrong, the students should have informed me before beating up Neeraj. We have suspended Neeraj and the police will take action against him if he is guilty,” Kesar said.
