Delhi records fewer crimes against women this year
November 25th, 2009 - 10:36 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Nov 25 (IANS) There was a decrease in cases of crime against women in the national capital in 2009 as compared to last year, parliament was informed Wednesday.
According to the information provided in the Rajya Sabha by Minister of State for Home Mullappally Ramachandran, 492 cases of molestation, 222 harassment cases and 414 rape cases were registered in the national capital till Nov 15.
This is against 558 molestation, 296 Harassment 440 rape cases were filed during the same period last year.
However, this year 112 women were murdered in the national capital as against 108 last year.
