Delhi Police makes first arrest in DDA scam
January 9th, 2009 - 10:35 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 9 (IANS) The Economics Offences Wing (EOW) of the Delhi Police Friday registered its first case in the alleged scam in the allotment of over 5,000 flats by Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and arrested a man from Rajasthan, officials said.“We have registered a case and arrested Laxmi Narayan Meena from Junjhunu in Rajasthan on charges of cheating, forgery and impersonation,” Delhi Police spokesman Rajan Bhagat said.
According to the police, a case was registered on the complaint of one successful allottee in the scheme, whose identity has been kept a secret.
The police said Meena forged documents of a man who was awarded a flat during the DDA allotment Dec 16.
