Delhi police chief to meet Girija Vyas on women’s security
December 14th, 2010 - 4:19 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 14 (IANS) Delhi Police chief B.K. Gupta will meet National Commission for Women (NCW) head Girija Vyas Tuesday to discuss the growing incidents of rape and assault on women in the city, police sources said.
“The police chief wants to work with the commission and other bodies which are concerned about the security of women in the national capital,” an official told IANS.
Delhi recently witnessed two gangrapes and a spurt in crime incidents against women, creating widespread insecurity among working women and people at large.
The NCW has taken suo moto action in several cases of crime against women, a commission official said.
