Delhi official’s daughter commits suicide
November 24th, 2011 - 12:55 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Nov 23 (IANS) The 23-year-old daughter of a Delhi government official committed suicide at her family’s house in east Delhi Wednesday, police said.
Neha, daughter of Kanwar Singh, a deputy director in the education deparment, was found hanging at their home at Dilshad Garden.
A student of Information Technology, she was the youngest among Singh’s four daughters.
The incident came to light when her parents saw her body hanging in her bedroom.
Her room had to be broke open as it was closed from inside. The rope around her neck was untied and she was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital where she was declared dead.
“The body was handed over to the family after a post mortem examination,” a senior police official said.
Police is investigating the incident to ascertain the cause behind her suicide as no suicide note was recovered from the spot.
Her parents said things were going on well and they had no idea if Neha was depressed over something.
