Delhi lawmaker hurt in quarrel, three held
December 15th, 2011 - 10:57 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 15 (IANS) Delhi Congress legislator Jai Kishan was injured in a quarrel with some residents near his house in Sultanpuri area of north Delhi, police said Thursday. Three people were arrested.
Amit, 22, Manav, 22, and Omprakash, 42, were arrested for the incident that took place around 10 p.m. Wednesday in Raj Park area, where the legislator lives.
“Last night the legislator reached his house and found around five people standing outside his house,” said a police official.
He asked them not to stand there without any purpose and told them to leave. This sparked a heated argument between the legislator and the residents.
Three of theme tried to manhandle the legislator, who received minor injuries.
According to the official, other people left the place but the trio started using abusive language with the legislator and tried to attack him.
A case of grievous hurt and intimidation was registered.
