Delhi couple commits suicide after financial losses
July 25th, 2011 - 7:11 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, July 25 (IANS) A 55-year-old man who had suffered massive financial losses and his wife allegedly committed suicide at their home in north Delhi’s Ashok Vihar, police said.
Arvind Mathur, who worked as a finance manager in Jagjeey industry, and Rekha Mathur, 52, slashed their wrists, an official said. Their daughter found their bodies lying in a pool of blood at their Ashok Vihar Phase-1 residence.
“The daughter rushed them to hospital with the help of neighbours but they were declared brought dead. A knife and an unidentified solution was found in their bedroom,” said Mini Choudhary, deputy commissioner of police (north).
“The bodies have been sent for post mortem, but no suicide note has been found,” Choudhary added.
According to family members, Mathur had been under tremendous pressure as he had suffered huge financial losses in his business.
