Delhi boy dies after falling into water board pit
March 3rd, 2010 - 12:04 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 2 (IANS) A 12-year-old boy died after he fell into a deep pit dug by one of the civic agencies in the capital, police said Tuesday.
Sonu drowned after falling into a pit in Panchsheel Enclave in south Delhi around 4 p.m. Monday. He had gone with his friends to take a bath after Holi celebrations. His friends made futile attempts to save him,, an official said.
The pit was dug by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) for laying a water pipeline.
Police have registered a case of causing death due to negligence against the DJB and Delhi Development Authority (DDA).
