September 10th, 2011 - 10:38 pm ICT by IANSJaipur, Sep 10 (IANS) The credentials of two men from Jammu and Kashmir, detained in Rajasthan on the basis of their resemblance to the sketches of suspects in the Delhi High Court blast, have been checked and found to be correct, an official said.
The addresses and other details provided by the two, detained in Alwar town, have been found true, the officer said.
However, the police refused to divulge if the duo, residents of Sagun village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, have been given a clean chit.
A team of crime branch’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrived in Alwar Saturday to quiz the two men, identified as Ahmed Khatana, 35 and Abdul Gani Mager, 45.
The duo were were searching for an accommodation in various inns of Kishangarh Bas area of Alwar, some 140 km from Jaipur.
“They approached Gulab Devi Inn and asked for a room for the night. They were behaving in a very suspicious manner. Some inn employees and guests matched their appearance with the sketches and found a resemblance,” said a police officer.
The staff informed police about the duo following which they were taken into custody.
Police quizzed the duo throughout the night in relation to Wednesday’s blast outside Gate 5 of the Delhi high court complex, that has claimed 13 lives and left more than 90 injured.
Sources said that the duo have told the police that they were labourers and had come to Alwar to find opportunities in bee cultivation.
“They are still being interrogated,” the officer added.
Security personnel on the Jaipur-Delhi National Highway passing through Alwar are on high alert.
