Deaf, mute youth held for minor’s rape
February 11th, 2011 - 12:18 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Feb 10 (IANS) A class 3 student of a government school was raped by her deaf and mute neighbour in west Delhi, police said Thursday. The accused has been arrested.
Mannu, 20, was caught after a power utility employee came to the eigh-year-old girl’s help in Kanjhawala. The incident occurred around 3.15 p.m.
Police said that the victim was playing with her friend when the accused forcibly took her to a nearby vacant house and raped her.
“A police team reached the spot and rushed the victim to Rao Tula Ram Memorial hospital where her medical examination confirmed rape,” said a police officer.
