‘Dead’ doctor arrested in Jharkhand
September 5th, 2011 - 9:15 pm ICT by IANSRanchi, Sept 5 (IANS) A government doctor, who had faked his death to avoid arrest in a scam, was arrested in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district Monday, police said.
R.D. Singh was arrested from the civil surgeon’s office by a team of Dumka district police.
Singh, who faced arrest after his role in siphoning of Rs.83,000 of government funds from the Dumka district hospital came to light, hatched a conspiracy to get himself declared dead. He was working in Dumka till January.
In August, his relatives submitted death certificate to Dumka police. However, the forgery was exposed by local media and after verification, Dumka police arrested him.
