Dacoit gang busted, six arrested

New Delhi, April 22 (IANS) Six people allegedly involved in several cases of dacoities across Delhi have been arrested while preparing to target a factory in east Delhi, police said today.

The accused have been identified as Dilshad, 35, Sabbu, 28, Idrees, 25, Istkhar, 26, Rahisuddin, 27 and Shavi, 21. Two home-made pistols, two knives and one iron rod were recovered from them.

Their arrests came after information that six armed dacoits would assemble near the Delhi State Industrial Development Corporation (DSIDC) industrial complex in Jhilmil area to strike at a copper wire manufacturing factory.

On interrogation, the accused disclosed that Sabbu, who was familiar with the area, had information that there was a huge amount of cash at the copper wire factory.

According to police, two of the accused - Idris and Sabbu - have a criminal background and were involved in half-a-dozen cases of robbery, burglary, cheating and theft.
