Lucknow, Nov 20 (IANS) A crude bomb was recovered from the district court in Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh Thursday morning, the police said. On Wednesday evening, a crude bomb exploded in the same court but no one was injured.The explosion Wednesday took place in the electricity meter outside the chief judicial magistrate’s court in Sultanpur district, 100 km from here.

“Today (Thursday) at around 10 a.m., we recovered a crude bomb near the court of additional chief judicial magistrate. After inspecting it, we found it to be of very low intensity,” Additional Superintendent of Police V.P. Shukla told IANS.

“It appears that some mischievous elements are trying to hamper court proceedings and we will soon nab them,” Shukla added.

Additional Director General of Police (Crime, Law and Order) Brijlal said: “We are taking these (court) explosions seriously and those found guilty will be booked under National Security Act.”

“A terror activity is ruled out,” he added.

Similar incidents were also reported on Nov 14 and 15 at the district court of the state capital Lucknow after fire crackers exploded in the washroom.
