Crude bomb found in Punjab town
February 25th, 2011 - 9:53 pm ICT by IANSZirakpur (Punjab), Feb 25 (IANS) A crude bomb was found outside a shop in a busy market in this Punjab town Friday, police said. It was safely detonated by police later.According to police, Pankaj Garg, a shopkeeper, reported a suspicious object, tightly wrapped in a cloth, lying outside his shop.
“We reached the spot and carefully lifted that object and found it to be a crude bomb. We took the bomb to a secluded location and detonated it by firing at it, after placing sand bags all around,” said Yogi Raj, station house officer of Zirakpur.
Zirakpur town is around 10 km away from Chandigarh.
