CRPF trooper killed in gunfight with Maoists
January 17th, 2011 - 10:25 pm ICT by IANSPatna, Jan 17 (IANS) A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper was killed and another seriously injured in a gunfight with Maoists in Bihar’s Gaya district Monday, police said.The shoot-out took place near a forest in Gaya, about 100 km from here.
“Both the CRPF men were admitted in hospital but one of them succumbed to his injuries,” a police official in Gaya said.
Gaya Superintendent of Police Amit Lodha told IANS that police have launched combing operations to nab the Maoists.
Police suspect that some Maoists were also killed during the gunfight but their bodies were not recovered.
