CRPF trooper arrested for Maoist links
January 29th, 2011 - 12:33 am ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, Jan 28 (IANS) A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper was arrested Friday in Orissa’s Sundergarh district for having links with Maoist rebels, police said.Satyaban Bhoi was arrested from the CRPF camp at Bisra near steel city Rourkela, some 515 km from Bhubaneswar, after police found evidence against him, Superintendent of Police Diptesh Patnaik told IANS.
Bhoi was supplying security related critical information to the Maoists, he said.
Police have also arrested another person named Tarun Das from the same area for providing explosives to the rebels. Some explosives and other materials were also seized from Das, he said.
