London, Oct 11 (IANS) Singer Sheryl Crow has rescued a wild mustang from extermination and is encouraging other horse lovers to do the same.Crow was horrified to learn of government plans to get rid of the horses and wants to lead by example because she thinks it’s important that Americans fight to save such a valuable part of the country’s history, reports contactmusic.com.
She said: “There’s legislation going on right now about exterminating these great wild mustangs… (They’re) truly one of the great representatives of our native culture here in America. Wild mustangs are really true to the heritage of this country; they help us to remember who we were.. (and) the government is trying to have them run off cliffs and things.”
The horse she rescued is being taken care of by her friends as she tours. She will later take the wild horse to her ranch in the US state of Tennessee.
