Criminal shot dead in Orissa
May 12th, 2011 - 12:10 am ICT by IANSJagatsinghpur (Orissa), May 11 (IANS) A hardcore criminal was killed and two others were critically injured when unidentified men opened fire at them in Orissa’s Jagatsinghpur district Wednesday evening, police said.
The incident took place at a crowded place in Biridi, a mini town about 50 from state capital Bhubaneswar, police officer A.K. Panda told IANS.
Two or three unidentified men came on a motorcycle and shot Panchua Rout and his two associates, he said.
While Rout died on the spot, his associates were critically injured, Panda said.
Rout was a hard core criminal facing over 20 cases were pending against him, he added.
The injured were moved to a hospital by local residents.
