Cricket betting racket busted, four held
October 18th, 2011 - 8:27 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Oct 18 (IANS) A cricket-betting gang was busted here and four men who were taking bets on the India-English One-Dayer were arrested with mobile phones and laptops, police said Tuesday.
Deepak Mukhija, 39, Punit Madan 29, Parmod Jain, 44, and Sunil Kumar, 33, were caught Monday from a house in Budh Vihar in north Delhi.
The police stormed the house when the India-England match was on, Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashok Chand said. A television, two laptops, 27 mobile telephones, eight notebooks and calculators were seized from them.
