CPI-M worker killed by Maoists
May 27th, 2010 - 5:52 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, May 27 (IANS) A Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) worker was killed by suspected Maoists in West Bengal’s restive West Midnapore district early Thursday, a police official said.
Shatrughan Ghosh’s body was found near Patina area. His throat had been slit.
“We have recovered the body from Patina area. He was dragged from his residence and killed by the Maoists,” said West Midnapore Police Superintendent Manoj Verma.
Maoists are active in West Bengal’s three western districts of West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia.
