CPI-M leader’s kin held over land deal
March 24th, 2011 - 1:27 am ICT by IANSKolkata, Mar 23 (IANS) A relative of former Rajya Sabha member Sarala Maheswari of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) was arrested from West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district Wednesday for allegedly forging a land deed.
“Amitabha Kejriwal, son-in-law of Maheswari, forged a deed of four cottahs of land near airport to claim ownership of it,” Officer-in-Charge of Airport police station Tapan Mishra said.
He was produced before the Barrackpore district court Wednesday, which remanded him to police custody for three days, Mishra told IANS.
