Courts asks government to justify funding for Sanskriti School
October 14th, 2009 - 10:21 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Oct 14 (IANS) Delhi High Court Wednesday asked the central government to explain why funds are given to Sanskriti School, run by spouses of top bureaucrats.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Ajit Prakash Shah and Justice S. Muralidhar asked the government why the school gets central funding even though it does not provide education to students of economically weaker sections of society.
“The husbands prepare notes for grant of fund to the school run by their wives and the cabinet approves the plan,” the bench said and sought an affidavit by Nov 18.
The bench passed the order taking a suo motu cognisance of a media report about the school two years ago.
