Lucknow, June 19 (IANS) The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court Thursday summoned Lucknow Development Authority’s (LDA) vice-chairman for razing different portions of the boundary wall of the Sahara group’s housing complex here, officials said. Sahara group Thursday moved the High Court terming LDA’s demolition of the boundary walls of “Sahara Shahr” Wednesday as unauthorised, officials added.
Shashank Shekhar Singh, state cabinet secretary, said: “The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to challenge the High Court order Friday in the Supreme Court.”
Late Wednesday night, LDA’s demolition squad razed different portions of boundary walls of the Sahara’s housing scheme and other set ups in the locality that were standing on the area earmarked for a green belt, officials said.
Initial reports had suggested that the group housing complex wall was demolished by the employees of Sahara group.
“The Sahara Shahr’s boundary wall had encroached upon about 35-metre of the area reserved for the green belt in the master plan,” a senior LDA official said, requesting anonymity.
