February 11th, 2011 - 7:14 pm ICT by IANSBangalore, Feb 11 (IANS) The Karnataka High Court Friday rejected the bail plea of Abdul Nasir Maudany, leader of the Kerala-based People’s Democractic Party and an accused in the Banglaore blasts case.Maudany has been in a Bangalore jail since Aug 17 last year after his arrest in Kerala.
Justice V. Jagannathan accepted the state government’s plea that it was not safe to grant bail to Maudany as he was “involved in terror activities and most witnesses in the case are being threatened”.
The blasts in 2008 killed a woman and injured 15 people.
Justice Jagannathan said Maudany was free to approach the Supreme Court with his bail application.
