Court probes finances of woman seeking son’s custody
August 10th, 2011 - 10:31 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Aug 10 (IANS) The Supreme Court Wednesday sought details on the economic status of a Muslim woman who is seeking the custody of her 14-year-old son who, after allegedly losing his way to home eight years ago, is now being brought up by his Hindu foster father in Uttar Pradesh.
Shahnaz Begum is seeking the custody of her son Akbar, who disappeared from Allahabad. The boy is now being reared by his Hindu foster father Alku Lal in Lucknow. She has challenged the Allahabad High Court verdict denying her the custody of her son.
