Court orders Rs.1 mn compensation for Delhi boy

New Delhi, Feb 11 (IANS) The Delhi High Court Wednesday asked the Delhi government to pay a compensation of Rs.1 million to a boy who was injured due to construction workers’ negligence, affecting his mental health.
Justice Ravinder Bhat asked the Delhi government to compensate Dhiru, a Class 7 student who comes from Uttar Pradesh.

Dhiru lived with his aunt in Timarpur area of northwest Delhi. On the way to school, he was injured when workers threw the debris from the rooftop without noticing him.

The boy was severely injured on head and became mentally ill. He is at present undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
