Johannesburg, Sep 12 (Xinhua) South Africa’s high court Friday dismissed the corruption charge against Jacob Zuma, leader of the ruling African National Congress (ANC), news agencies reported.Zuma has been charged, among others, with money-laundering, corruption and fraud, which he has repeatedly denied.

Judge Chris Nicholson delivered the judgement in the Pietermaritzburg High Court.

Zuma arrived in the courtroom a few minutes before 10 a.m., the South African Press Association reported.

The mood in the courtroom was jovial as almost 40 photographers and television cameramen were briefly allowed to take pictures of the legal teams and senior members of the African National Congress seated in the gallery.

The entire ANC national executive committee was seated in the front row, behind the witness box where Zuma stood.

The ruling removed the biggest hurdle for Zuma to become the next president of South Africa next year.
