Court asks Delhi civic agencies to relocate pigs
January 7th, 2010 - 12:03 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Jan 6 (IANS) The Delhi High Court Wednesday asked the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to relocate the pigs from the pig shelter located in the east delhi area.
A division bench of Chief Justice Ajit Prakash Shah and Justice Rajiv Sahai Endlaw asked the MCD and the DDA to explore possibilities of relocating the pigs from the Trilokpuri area.
The court was hearing a public interest petition filed by Uttar Pradesh Bihar Nagrik Parishad, which contended that the pig shelter caused nuisance and spread unhygienic conditions in the residential area.
The court asked the civic agencies to file an action taken report by Jan 27.
