Court acquits two in Russian girl’s molestation
November 22nd, 2010 - 6:29 pm ICT by IANSPanaji, Nov 22 (IANS) Two people were acquitted by a local court Monday in a case related to molestation of a nine-year-old Russian girl at Arambol beach here early this year.
Anil Raghuvanshi and Aman Bharadwaj from Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, respectively, were released by the Goa Children’s Court.
The court gave them the benefit of the doubt in the face of weak evidence presented by police after investigation into the January incident.
The victim’s mother had complained that her daughter was molested while she was swimming in the sea off Arambol beach, 40 km from here.
The charge sheet against the accused was filed Feb 9.
