Couple’s corpses found in canal
April 23rd, 2011 - 6:52 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 23 (IANS) Bodies of a man and a woman wrapped in cloth were found Saturday in a canal in outer Delhi’s Bawana area, police said.
“We noticed a foul smell coming from the cloth wrapping in the canal, after which we fished it out and found the bodies,” a Bawana resident said.
The people then called the police, who sent the bodies for autopsy.
“We are investigating the case. The canal gets water from Haryana, it could be possible that the bodies came from Haryana, but nothing can be said as of yet,” a senior police officer said.
When asked if it was a case of honour killing, the officer added: “We cannot say that at the moment. We are trying to identify the dead bodies. Once it is done, things will be clear.”
Earlier too, dead bodies have been found dumped in the same canal.
