Couple’s corpses found in canal (Lead)
April 23rd, 2011 - 10:42 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 23 (IANS) Decomposed bodies of an unidentified man and a woman wrapped in cloth were found Saturday in a canal in north Delhi and police said they were awaiting the autopsy report to ascertain the cause of death.
“As there are no visible injury marks on their bodies, we doubt whether the cause of their death is due to drowning or some other reason. It could be ascertained only after a post mortem examination,” said a police official.
The decomposed bodies were found floating in a canal in Bawana area. The canal connects the capital with neighbouring Haryana.
“The bodies were decomposed and were recovered when passersby noticed them floating in the water. The bodies are disfigured and have not been identified yet,” a police official said.
According to police, the bodies were rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital and the medical examination suggested that they were between the age of 28 and 30.
