Couple in extra marital affair burnt to death
March 3rd, 2010 - 2:41 pm ICT by IANSAgra, March 3 (IANS) A man and a woman allegedly locked in an extra-marital affair were burnt to death in Agra district in Uttar Pradesh after being doused with kerosene, police said.
Police identified the victims as Shyam Pratap Singh, 45 and a father of four, and Phool Mala, 32 and a mother of two. They were killed Monday in Khandauli area.
Police suspect Mala’s husband Dileep, who is absconding, for the double murder.
According to villagers, Dileep invited Shyam to his house on Holi. When he came, Dileep’s family poured kerosene on him and set him on fire. When Mala tried to intervene, she too was set ablaze.
The duo was brought to an Agra hospital with more than 90 percent burn injuries. They were declared dead by doctors.
