Couple held for killing teenager who threatened rape
May 23rd, 2010 - 7:19 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 23 (IANS) A couple and one of their friends have been arrested for allegedly murdering a 17-year-old boy who had threatened to rape the woman, police said Sunday.
Rajneesh, 32, his wife Shobha, 28, and their friend Hansraj, 20 - all hailing from Uttar Pradesh - were apprehended Saturday for allegedly strangling the boy in Adarsh Nagar in north west Delhi May 17.
His body was found near Rajneesh’s slum dwelling.
The police found that the deceased was called by Rajneesh and Hansraj on the preceding night at the former’s slum dwelling.
“We got to know that the boy was called by them and since then they were missing,” a police official said.
Later, the police questioned Shobha who disclosed that her husband and Hansraj had committed the murder with her help.
The police official said: “They committed the boy’s murder as he tried to rape Shobha by threatening her with a knife on the intervening night of May 14-15.”
