Couple elopes, girls’ brother murders boy’s parents (Lead)
June 1st, 2011 - 9:44 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, June 1 (IANS) Infuriated over his minor sister eloping with a neighbour, a 25-year-old man shot dead the boy’s parents early Wednesday, police said.
Sharda Prasad Tiwari, 45, and wife Shobha Tiwari, 40, were killed by Sonu, who lived opposite their Harsh Vihar residence in east Delhi, around 6 a.m.
“The elder son of the dead couple had eloped with Sonu’s minor sister a few months back but returned after some days. An angered Sonu sought revenge from the family,” a police officer said.
“Tiwari’s two sons and a daughter were also in the house and were sleeping at the time of the incident,” added the officer.
According to police, the young couple was not married and both were living in their respective houses ever since they returned.
“Sonu and his family are absconding since morning and their house is locked,” the officer said.
