Couple, driver held for three murders

New Delhi, March 14 (IANS) The owner of a travel company and his wife who ran a marriage bureau have been arrested on charges of murdering three men — using their driver as the assassin, police said Monday.

Mishan Singh, 49, Shashi Kiran, 46, and driver Sarvender Singh, 27, were held in south Delhi after bodies of one of the victims was dumped in Bulandshahr district in Uttar Pradesh.

The body was that of Sanjiv Kumar Dass, 28, a partner in the woman’s marriage bureau.

Police probing Dass’ murder realized that two more men had also been murdered by the husband-wife team. One of the victims was Shahsi Kiran’s brother, Ashok, 45.

The third man was Abrar Hussain, 42, a manager in the transport company.

Deputy Commissioner of Police H.G.S Dhaliwal said Mishan Singh lived in Paryavaran Complex near Saket. He owned some 250 vehicles. His wife runs “Perfect Marriage Jodi” at Lado Sarai.

Police said Dass was apparently strangled following a row over the ownership of the marriage bureau.

Mishan Singh confessed that he, his wife and the driver killed Dass and the other two men. He accused Hussain of cheating him of Rs.1 crore.

His wife’s brother was murdered following a dispute over an ancestral property.
