Shanghai, Sep 10 (IANS) Police here in the Chinese business hub are looking for a group of people who beat up a couple at a movie theatre after the couple told them to stay quiet during a film.

The couple were beaten in an underground garage Saturday night, the Shanghai Daily reported.

One of the victims, a woman surnamed Gu, said her husband was suffering from partial deafness due to the severe beating.

The movie theatre, Shanghai Jinyi Cinemas, said they had surveillance footage of the people involved in the beating.

The incident happened soon after the movie, “The Expendables 2″, began and the couple asked a man sitting on the next seat to stay quiet because he spoke loudly, the woman said.

The man and three of his companions, including two women, blocked Gu’s way in the theatre after the movie ended. She said the four followed them to the underground garage, with two women holding off Gu and the men beating Gu’s husband.

When Gu tried to intervene, she was also beaten.

The couple posted internet pictures of their injures, and called for the public to help capture their attackers.
