Cool morning in Delhi, rains ahead

New Delhi, Sep 10 (IANS) A day after Delhi came to a virtual standstill due to torrential rains, the residents of the capital woke up to a cool and cloudy Saturday morning. The Met office has predicted showers later in the day.

“The skies will remain generally cloudy with possibility of rains and thundershowers in some parts of the city,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The minimum temperature was recorded one notch above average at 25.1 degrees Celsius while the the maximum is expected to hover around 31 degrees Celsius.

Over 60 mm of rainfall was recorded from Friday 8.30 p.m. to Saturday 8.30 a.m.

The total rainfall recorded this season is 574.5 mm, two percent less than average. On Friday, the minimum and maximum temperatures were recorded at 25.1 and 28 degrees.
