Contractor robbed of Rs.4 lakh in Greater Noida
June 8th, 2010 - 10:43 pm ICT by IANSGreater Noida, June 8 (IANS) Two unidentified men robbed Rs.4 lakh and a motorcycle from a contractor here Tuesday, police said.
The incident occurred on the Surajpur-Dadri road when the contractor Ashok Gupta and his employee Sunil were carrying Rs.4 lakh in cash to pay to labourers working for a Japanese multinational company here.
Sunil was driving the motorcycle while Gupta was riding pillion with the cash, when two men on a motorcycle intercepted them and snatched the bag containing the cash and beat Gupta and Sunil. They also took Gupta’s motorcycle.
“A case has been registered and a hunt is on to nab the criminals,” Superintendent of Police (Greater Noida) S.K. Verma said.
